Iggeres HaGra / A Letter For The Ages

Tens of thousands of lives have been enhanced and improved by Iggeres HaRamban: A Letter for the Ages, the ethical letter Rav Moshe ben Nachman wrote to his son. Now, in Iggeres HaGra, we can share the wisdom of one of history’s greatest sages, the Gaon of Vilna, known as the GRA. As he set out on what was then a difficult and dangerous journey to Eretz Yisrael, the GRA wrote a letter to his family. More than a simple message of farewell, it is a remarkable combination of advice, practical guidance, and ethical Torah teachings. In this fascinating volume we will study the topics that the GRA felt were vital to discuss with his family before his departure: Interpersonal relationships, not getting caught up in the trap of wealth, honoring Shabbos, the importance of charity, children’s education, and many others. Iggeres HaGRA: A Letter for the Ages includes stories and observations by a host of Torah personalities, which bring the GRA’s wisdom into our own contemporary lives and challenges. For reasons that remain mysterious to this very day, the GRA did not travel as far as the Holy Land, returning instead to his home. Although his journey did not end the way he’d hoped, the letter he left behind has remained for us – his message to his family, and to all of us today.
