Chinuch With Simchah

Rabbi Yaakov Bender is an esteemed Rosh Yeshivah. Hailed as one of the most visionary and dedicated mechanchim of our time, Rabbi Bender deeply understands children, parents, and the challenging world that we live in. Because of his worldwide reputation, thousands of parents, educators and, of course, children turn to him with their questions. They know that the answers they receive from him will be wise and compassionate, based firmly on Torah values and his many decades of teaching -- and caring for -- children of all ages. In Chinuch With Simchah, Rabbi Bender shares hundreds of real questions that have been sent to him, together with his wise and insightful answers. Will giving a child a “kosher” MP3 player open the door to dangerous technology, or will it prevent the child from discovering more problematic devices? At what age is it appropriate for a child to go to the funeral of a grandparent? Eretz Yisrael is at war, and my twelve-year-old daughter wants to go to an ice cream party. Should we tell her it’s inappropriate? How should I, as a parent, and my child, deal with a courtyard bully? And what if the bully is an adult? These questions, and of course, Rabbi Bender’s answers, offer parents and teachers a practical and effective guide to raising children with joy – and raising joy-filled children.
