Great Jewish Treasures

The word "treasure" usually conjures up an image of a wooden chest overflowing with gold coins, diamonds, and rubies. Jewish treasures are different. Ours are not those which fill the coffers, but those that enrich the soul: The words of Torah we learn, the mitzvos we perform, and our attachment to Hashem. Even in the physical realm, when an object is utilized for a Divine purpose - especially by a spiritual giant - it is deemed a treasure indeed. Rabbi Moshe Bamberger, author of Great Jewish Letters and Great Jewish Speeches, now brings his talent for finding fascinating and unusual historical facts and stunning visual images to the world of rabbinic artifacts - genuine Jewish treasures. In these gorgeous pages we will find the ancient seal of the Ramban which was only recently unearthed in the Holy Land. We will read the rabbinical ordination conferred by the Chida, be dazzled by the exquisite Torah crown of the Ruzhiner Rebbe, and behold the "Last Ketzos" sold in America. We will view the Vilna Gaon's Gemara - along with his glosses and the wax drippings from his candle, the shofar used by the Bluzhover Rebbe in Bergen Belsen, and Rabbi Aharon Kotler's grand blueprint for Beth Medrash Govoha. As we gaze upon the precious possessions of some of the world's most noted Jews - Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky's storied Kiddush cup, Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg's famous tzitzis, and Rebbetzin Kanievsky's holy Shabbos candlesticks - we see more than interesting artifacts; we get a profound feeling for the people who owned these objects and used them in their service of G-d, His Torah and His People. Lavishly designed with both photos and illustrations.
