In The Footsteps of Eliyahu Hanavi

Join Rabbi Berel Wein on an incredible journey through more than 2,000 years and more than 20 countries. It's quite a trip. It began at a Seder, with Rabbi Berel Wein - the world famous rav, speaker, historian, and author - imagining what it would be like to accompany Eliyahu HaNavi on his travels on Pesach night, from home to home, city to city, country to country. From that whimsical thought grew this extraordinary book, which takes us on a provocative, passionate, and utterly absorbing tour of Jewish history in the Diaspora. In the Footsteps of Eliyahu Hanavi offers both a geographical and chronological look at the people, places, and movements that are the story of the Jewish People. We will travel from the wind-swept deserts of Mesopotamia to the pastoral villages of France; from South Africa's veldt to New York's tenements. We will have an awe-inspiring, panoramic view of giants of the spirit and villainous anti-Semites. Empires will rise and fall, great movements will have their moment and vanish. The Jews will see it all, experience it all - and, with their Torah, their prayers, and their faith, they will survive and prevail. Beautifully written, with hundreds of evocative photographs, In the Footsteps of Eliyahu Hanavi is Rabbi Wein's masterwork, giving us a riveting look at the world's most fascinating and eternal People.
